kitchen floor Description

Hello,
I just purchased Grade B Granite Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top, and (http://maplered.com) awaiting thedelivery of it. Being a novice in the knowledge of Stone (http://g603.net) , I went withthe advice of Home depot expert. Not sure what "Grade B" Granite (http://tanbrown.org) typemeans. All I know is "Grade D" was the most expesive Granite (http://tanbrown.org) at HomeDepot. Is Granite (http://tanbrown.org) a bad choice for kitchen Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) tops? We cook a lotand (http://maplered.com) being Indian, use lot of spices (and (http://maplered.com) smell).
1) I think I am too late in the game to back out, so how do I protect/take care of  the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) from getting permanent spots/damage, any special care? I will do the lemon test once I get the Stone (http://g603.net) delivered.

2)What kind of flooring is recommend for the kitchen flooring. Our condohad Wood floors and (http://maplered.com) our choice is generally contemporary. We werethinking some kind of Stone (http://g603.net) , can you suggest a Stone (http://g603.net) which is durableand (http://maplered.com) also has aesthetic value :)
